Technical Writers for Semiconductors and Software Documents

Technical Writers for Microprocessors,
Semiconductors, and Software

We write and edit technical documents about microprocessors, SoCs, semiconductors, and associated software. We create documents based on your engineering specifications, interviews with your engineers, your prior drafts, and our own technical knowledge.

Our services consist of original writing, editing, and illustration. We start from your engineering specifications, rough drafts, patents, industry journals, or prior versions of documents, if you have them. Otherwise, we create drafts entirely from interviews with your engineering staff members.

We begin by reading your source material or by conducting interviews. In doing this, we gain an understanding of your product from your customers' viewpoint. We study source material carefully, looking for clarity of content and organization, accuracy, completeness, and consistency. We engage in question-answer exchanges to ensure that we understand your product. For software, we may also use your product to experience it directly, the way your customers experience it.

When we understand your product and your customers' expectations, we assemble our notes and begin writing. We organize content in a manner that is familiar to engineers working in your industry. Our documents are readable by engineers who have learned English as a second language.

We work in our own offices, communicating by email and telephone. Depending on your location, we may be able to conduct interviews at your site.

We use most of the common editing and graphics tools, including Word, FrameMaker, PowerPoint, Visio, Illustrator, Photoshop, Google Docs, and Atom (Markdown files). You own the copyright to all documents we write for you.
